Recently, North Korea has been emphasizing robust preparations to prevent, respond to and recover from damages by natural disasters such as summer monsoons, heatwaves and typhoons that have been recurring for several years. On July 4, it revealed the new Ministry of Disaster Prevention through the Korean Central Television. Evidently, Kim Jong-Un is building up his government’s disaster response capacity by improving laws and systems.
